A Little About Me...

Smalltown Girl

I was raised in Cochise, Arizona - a very, very small town in the Southeast corner of the state. It is named after the great Apache warrior.

Cochise was definitely part of the wild, wild west - though not as famous as the nearby Tombstone. It was a great place to grow up and if you are in the area, you should visit!

My passions include...

Primates

During the pandemic, I became aware of the state of primates throughout the world. It has been a heartbreaking but wonderful journey of learning!

I received my degree in anthropology from YouTube University and every day, I still devote part of my day to keep up with a chimpanzee troop living at the Tama Zoo in Japan through the videos posted by Polar Bear. I love 'Jungle School', which focuses on efforts to reintroduce orphaned orangutans back into the wild. Another gem is 'Baby Chimp Rescue' which introduced me to Jim and Jenny Desmond - a couple who have dedicated their lives to reintroduce orphaned chimpanzees back into the wild.

I've noted just a few of the organizations who focus on saving our closest living beings...check them out!

Movies

I love, love, love movies! I have an extensive DVD collection, in the thousands. As someone who watches movies more than once, this has been a dearly loved investment.

Some of my favorite actors are in this collage, all-time favorite actress is Bette Davis and actor is Denzel Washington.

Music

I adore music and have had the opportunity to see most of my favorite performers over the years. My all-time favorite is James Taylor, who I've seen numerous times, and hope to see again in the future.

As part as my role at Microsoft's Executive Partner Summit, I managed entertainers and brought Lionel Richie, Lyle Lovett, and Michael McDonald to Seattle. They were all absolutely amazing and will always be great memories!

History

I have curated a small library of books, almost all focus on history. I am passionate about learning about those who came before, who they were, how they lived, and how they made an impact. My all-time favorite book is Peter the Great by Robert K. Massie, who is also one of my favorite authors.

I read every day and believe we should never stop learning...whether it represents itself as a YouTube video, a movie, a song, or a book.

Curiosity never grows old and I'm always looking to discover and learn...personally and professionally.
